This is the part of the post didn’t think I’d be writing about. AJ woke up one morning complaining of a headache. We thought he stayed up too late on his phone but after waking up from his nap, he started throwing up. We immediately brought him to the hospital. After an MRI, x-ray, eye exam and blood tests, they determined he had swelling of his brain due to a shunt malfunction and needed to undergo a shunt revision surgery. We are so thankful to share that the procedure went well and AJ is recovered well.

AJ had to stay in the hospital for a couple days for observation

He really wanted to go back to school the day after he was released to participate in a crocheting activity the class had planned. We compromised by bringing him in for that part of the lesson while we sat in the back for the classroom to watch. He was truly in his element and so happy to be back with is friends.
